Francis Nsundi

About

Francis Nsundi, a dedicated Congolese artist and painter, took his first steps into the art world at age nine. He started out painting on walls and shop signboards, setting the foundation for his future career. His artistic journey was deeply influenced by his mentor, Trésor Chérin, the nephew of acclaimed painter Chéri Chérin.

Chérin’s influence can be traced in Nsundi’s work. Born and raised in Tchango, the same neighborhood as Chéri Chérin, Francis grew up admiring his work and it shaped his artistic style. He describes his art as a commentary on daily life in Congo, with a focus on the challenges of Congolese youth.

Nsundi envisions his art style evolving and adapting to contemporary times. He’s driven by his passion and commitment to his craft, with an aim to be a recognized artist not just in Congo, but globally.
