Tajho Marciano is a Congolese painter and musician born on May 19, 1972, in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo. Specializing in popular painting, he showed remarkable artistic talent from an early age, beginning his creative journey when he was just eight years old.

During his early school years, Marciano demonstrated a precocious intelligence and natural aptitude for drawing. His deep love for music, which would become one of his greatest sources of inspiration, shaped his artistic development. He had a unique way of transforming what he heard on radio and television into visual art, creating drawings inspired by these audio-visual experiences.

Drawing became an obsession for young Marciano, a pleasure he couldn’t live without. His passion for reading also significantly influenced his artistic development. This natural curiosity led him to seek out more experienced painters and advertisers, from whom he would learn by careful observation. Rather than skip school, he would stop wherever he saw people drawing, watching silently until he felt satisfied with what he had learned.

After studying at the Academy of Fine Arts, Tajho has exhibited his work in prestigious international galleries and museums alongside renowned Congolese artists such as Chéri Samba, Chéri Cherin, and JP Mika. One notable exhibition featuring his work was “Congo Stars” at the Kunsthalle Tübingen. He has also established himself as a mentor, taking several young artists under his wing, many of whom have gone on to establish successful careers or show promising futures.

When speaking with Tajho, one immediately recognizes his artistic depth. His musicianship is evident in the way he casually plays improvised guitar pieces during conversations. As an artist, he enjoys experimenting with various mediums and techniques, demonstrating his versatility and continuous desire to explore new forms of expression.
